FOUNTAIN VALLEY LODGE #191

May 2007 Trestleboard

Thanks to all the players on more successful EA degrees.  Sorry I was unable to attend but I understand you all did a great job.  We will now get ready for the next degrees which will be on the 17th of April.  We look forward to all our Brothers for support in this endeavor.  If things go right we will have a third degree in August.

It was good to see Brother Sampsel back on his feet and moving quite well after his accident.  We are also glad that Brother Harper’s arm is healing well.

Another meeting was held on the 7th of April to hopefully pursue a plan to make repairs to our Lodge.  Several options were laid out on the floor to discuss.  This is a difficult process and will require substantial funding.  As you all know, the wall repair will take the majority of funds that we have.  WB Stewart has drawn up a proposal that would extend the life of the wall but will take a number of Brethren to help with the procurement.  Hopefully at the next meeting we can vote on a path to take and begin working towards a resolution to this concern.  Another concern is the AC unit.  This failed on us last year and WB Dan Brooks will have someone give us a quote on repairing it.  We hope to have this repaired by our May stated meeting.

Thanks to WB George Cann for his presentation that he gave on the York Rite.  It was good to know how the degrees at Blue Lodge play an important role in this other Masonic organization.

At our May stated meeting we hope to have time lines set for our summer work day and picnic.

Let us not forget the Job’s Daughters meeting.  These are held on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month.  I encourage all our Brothers to attend and help support these fine young ladies.  NOTE: they also put out some great food on the first Saturday of the month.

Please keep our sick Brothers in your thoughts and prayers. Also remember our soldiers in your prayers, for they are the ones who give us what we have today.

Larry Cox, Worshipful Master
