FOUNTAIN VALLEY LODGE #191
February 2008 Trestleboard
Happy Valentine’s Day to all members and their sweethearts.
By the time you read this we will already have been to
the Colorado Grand Lodge Annual Communication – a good time was had by
all who attended. Our banner stood
tall during the processional of lodges attending.
Tickets are still readily available from Eastern Star brethren for the
annaul spaghetti dinner. These have
been fun events for all attending over the last number of years.
They are also an excellent fund raiser for the chapter.
On the 15th of January, Br. Trevor Floyd joined our ranks as
the newest Entered Apprentice. At
the time of this printing we are anticipating the raising of Br. Zach McMahon to
the sublime degree of a Master Mason.
New petitions have arrived and we are expecting more degree work for the
months ahead.
Masonic tradition informs us mystery novel readers that Sir Arthur Conan
Doyle was initiated an Entered Apprentice on January 26, 1887; passed to the
degree of a Fellow Craft on February 23, 1887; and , raised to the sublime
degree of a Master Mason on March 23, 1887.
We commonly know him as the author of all of the Sherlock Holmes novels.
Just recently released is the second National Treasure movie, which will
be coming to a theater near you. These
films have a lot of Masonic tie-ins that are of interest to all of us.
Please remember WB Don Dickson in our prayers as he is doing some heavy
lifting for our nation in
Iraq
.
Br.
Alex Ackley is serving in
England
. Thank God that
Br.
Dan Meeks has recently returned from
Iraq
unharmed.
Masonically yours,
Norm Pechacek, WM
